Transformation Yoga Teacher Training 200 Hour Program

1. Why is this training your best choice?
The importance of a well-organized program that puts safety first cannot be underestimated. Regardless of which style of yoga you are most fond of, having a solid foundation in alignment, anatomy, physiology and the principles of yoga are a necessity. Our comprehensive program provides an introduction to the universal alignment principles gifted to us by BKS Iyengar and prepares graduates to lead safe and effective classes in their communities. Methods to adapt postures for pregnant woman, older clients and clients with therapeutic needs will also be covered. Our graduates are widely respected around the southeast, and receive a supportive and nurturing education in Yoga as a Healing Art.

3. How can I make the training affordable?
We offer three different monthly payment plans, an early registration discount, and a buddy discount to help you stretch your yoga dollars. Required books may be purchased as needed during the training. Pefer to our book list for suggestions. Please call the studio to discuss the monthly plan that will fit your budget.
4. How can I make my first deposit & then monthly payments?
We now offer registration online through PayPal, you may also send a check with your application to the studio, or call and do a credit card payment over the phone. Office hours are Mon - Fri, 9am - 3 pm.
Monthly payment plans are to be paid by check or credit card on the 24th of each month.
5. What is the anticipated cost of books?
Plan on approximately $250-300 for books and props. You will not need to purchase all required books at one time. Please visit

7. I can't make one of the weekends, how can I make-up the time?
You will need to make up the time by attending the Roger Cole weekend in November or by attending one of the other training weekends being offered. Please consult with Lillah to determine which weekend will be best.
8. If I enroll in the 200 Hour basic training do I have to take electives?
No electives are necessary for this program. You can enroll in the basic training which includes the 10 weekends and graduate with a 200 hr Yoga Alliance Registration.
9. What if I have taken workshops before your 200 hour training that I wish to apply toward my requirements, is this possible?
The 200 hour training at Lighten Up Yoga is designed to help you grow and transform in ways you may only imagine at this time. Complete immersion is necessary, therefore no other workshops may be applied.

Teacher Training 500 Hour Program
1. Can I enroll in the 500 hr program before completing the 200 hr program?
You will need to complete ours or another 200 hour program before beginning the 500 program.
2. My 200 hr certification is from another Yoga Alliance Registered School. What should I do?
Please indicate on your application if you attended a yoga school that offered a different style of training. As our program is based in the alignment principles of yoga as a foundation for yoga therapeutics, therefore you will be asked to begin at the beginning.
3. What if I only have less than 200 hours from my previous training can I still apply?
Yes you can. You will be asked to pick up the additional hours you need by attending the additional weekends offered at Lighten Up.
4. Can workshops I have taken since the completion of my 200 hr training be applied toward the 500 hour program?
No, unfortunately Yoga Alliance currently requires that the complete 500-hours of training are awarded from only two registered schools. In unusual cirumstances please contact the director to determine the best course of action for you.
5. Do you offer a specialty 200-hour therapeutic training?
Yes. Our all new Healing Our Backs with Yoga TM training will prepare yoga teachers to offer pain releif to their students by understanding a wide range of neuromuscular conditions that contribute to back pain. The course takes only 6 months to complete and come with it's own manual.
