Hosted by One Center Yoga

Workshop times as follows;
Friday 12:00- 3:00 pm and 5:30 - 8:30 pm

Mastering the Five Winds in Purna Yoga™™ Standing Poses

The Five Vayus are the five winds in the body which govern our movement and progress. Energetic grounding, so essential to the standing poses, comes from the apana vayu; simultaneously, the sense of lifting comes from the samana vayu.  In this class, you will learn the role of all five vayus in standing poses.  The basics of alignment will be assumed so that we may concentrate more fully on accessing the vayus, the understanding of which will make the standing poses deeply fulfilling.

Friday, 5:30-8:30pm

The Five Elements in Shavasana in Purna Yoga™

In Purna Yoga™, the mind, body and emotions are most effectively brought to rest in the still depths of consciousness when Shavasana is done progressively and systematically.  We will incorporate the elements of earth, fire, water, air and ether as they are represented in the body to move towards the state of pure consciousness.

Saturday, 12:00-3:00pm

Twists in Purna Yoga™

Done correctly, twists cultivate shakti and channel the upward flow of energy.   In Purna Yoga, twists are used to release emotional blockages in the body and free tension in the intervertebral muscles along the spine.  Twists help liberate the body so that the energy that is dormant in the pelvis can rise to the heart. Class will start with beginning twists, and progress as deeply as the class will allow.

Saturday, 3:30-5:30pm

Integrating the Seven Kosas (Sheaths) of Being in Asana in Purna Yoga™

In an enlightened practice of asana, we move from the gross physical level through the organic body, the bodies of knowledge and wisdom, into bliss, consciousness and finally, the individual soul.  Aadil will use asanas to discover, explore, and integrate these seven kosas (sheaths) of the human being.

Sunday, 10:00-12:30pm

The Power and Joy of Backbends in Purna Yoga™

Energetically, backbends move you from the past into the present.  Physically, they help create space between the spinal discs.  Backbends help open the three major energy centers in the body: the pelvis, the heart, and the throat, and were traditionally done to free the body from the burden of the past.  Alignment and flow in backbends cultivates the most cherished of the asana effects – a realignment of the spine with the Pillar of Light.  Prepare to do backbends that work the spine, opening your central channel to re-align with the beauty and wisdom of your soul.  Backbends will be taught in a progressive series designed to bring freedom into your nervous system and into your lives.

Sunday, 12:30 - 1:30pm

The Importance of Inner Work in Purna Yoga

It doesn’t matter what we say about time, it is very just, it doesn’t discriminate.  Yet, time is very forgiving.  No matter how much you have wasted in the past, tomorrow is complete and waiting for most of us.  The same 24 hours for us all.  So the question isn’t that there isn’t enough time, but how we choose to use the same time given equally to all.

Clearing the Self through the Waters of Emotion

with Tricia Mc Donald

Five Sundays 9:30 – 11:30 AM
September 17 –  October 17, 2010

• Be your own compass
• Self correct painful habits
• Empower your authenticity
• Deepen your connection to Self and Spirit

Learn how your feeling nature informs whether you hold onto old patterns of thought and belief or soar into new realms of liberation and clarity. Your emotional body holds highly conscious information. As long as you negate your thoughts and feeling nature, looking to escape how you feel in the body and about the body, you will continue to miss your divine presence here and now.

We are not just spiritual beings having a human experience; our human being-ness , our feeling nature IS the divine vehicle of our wholeness. Everything you need to experience your highest spiritual potential is within the embrace of your humanity including ALL your feelings.

If you are looking for a practice and teacher who will honor, welcome and embrace ALL aspects of your humanness, one that encourages and celebrates the truth of who you already are, then …

This series is for you!

• Through simple yoga asana (postures), sound, and breath you will engage in simple practices that bring you firmly home in the body.
• We’ll discuss and share habits of conditioning that block your clear seeing and acceptance of self.
• You will engage your feeling nature to understand the language of sensation and receive the wisdom in your emotions.
• You’ll be offered voluntary homework to help you integrate your growing awareness, understanding and acceptance of Self and your feeling nature.
• We’ll share our time and hearts in a loving, compassionate space.

Cost: $95 for 5 Sundays series. Please call the studio at 828.254.7756 to register.
